For guests in our RV lot

If you’ve parked in our RV lot, the Museum and the Grill await you at our front entrance. From the far back of the property, it’s a short stroll from the RV sites on either the north or south side of the building.

Safety first

If you need help or feel you are in danger, call 911 first. Colonial Heights Police, Fire, and Rescue are minutes away.

Stay guidelines

Parking, pets, and quiet hours

Parking requirements

Your RV must be self-contained — on-board sanitary and bathing facilities, plus generators to support the RV.

Arrival times

Please arrive before 5:00 PM when the museum closes so we can answer any questions you may have.

Maximum stay

Maximum stay is 14 consecutive nights. After that, leave for at least 30 nights before returning.

Animals & pets

Four-legged guests are welcome — please clean up after them and be a good neighbor.

Noise & music

No loud noise or music after 9:00 PM.

Electricity & water

Use the electrical and water pedestals properly. Unsure how? Ask and we’ll show you.

Wi‑Fi

Free Wi‑Fi is available for our RV visitors.

In case of emergency

We keep an updated logbook of reservations and guest information on site for Fire and EMS.

Fire pit safety

Required conditions for campfires

Propane only
Always attended
15 ft clearance
Out by 11pm

Rules on site

  • No open wood fires or charcoal grills.
  • All propane fire pits must be attended while in use.
  • No fire pits under an RV awning.
  • Follow manufacturer recommendations, including separation from objects.
  • Operate fires at least 15 feet from any structure or combustible material.
  • No damaged fire pits.
  • No wood added to a propane fire pit.
  • All fires extinguished by 11:00 PM.
Bring your own extinguishing equipment

Two fire extinguishers or a charged water hose must be on site at all times. The museum does not provide this equipment.
