Davis Auto Sales was founded in 1976 by Jimmy Davis in southern Chesterfield County, building on his family’s Davis Auto Repair business started in the early 1950s. Starting small on Woodpecker Road with a focus on trucks and 4x4s, the family-run dealership (with Gail handling the books) moved to Jefferson Davis Highway in 1990 and later expanded to a larger facility in 2000. Embracing the internet early, they built a strong online presence that brought in out-of-state customers. As the business grew, sons JW, Brian, and Daniel joined, leading to the creation of Davis Off Road, Davis Trucks & More (with a wide variety of vehicles), and expansions into boats (Sunsation) and Oreion Reeper buggies. Now celebrating over 40 years, Davis Auto Sales has earned multiple Quality Dealer awards, sold vehicles across the U.S. and beyond, and remains a local, family-oriented independent dealership committed to honest service and continued growth.
